Simon and I work together on Sundays at the white hart pub in Orpington. Last night on the arrival for my shift he prompted me to ask why he had a Jack Daniels miniature in front of him.
On his way home friday night Simon came to the rescue of a teenage girl who had been hit by the car in front of his cab. Without a second thought he jumped out of his cab, called for an ambulance, wrapped the girl and her histerical friend in his jacket until the injured girl's father and ambulance arrived, the driver was arrested and Simon was left to walk the rest of his journey home in the rain bless him!.
The sad part of this story is that Simon had to near beg for the emergency services operator to send an ambulance out as they didn't understand severity of the situation, but the girl is okay and on the mend. Her father being a customer, he Recognised Simon from the white hart so the young girl sent her father to purchase a miniture bottle of Jack Daniels with her own pocket money to give to Simon, and it really made his day!
When I first heard his story I actually didn't believe him as he is the clown of the team, always trying to make people laugh but with the assurance of our boss Pete I became incredibly proud of Simon. I wasn't surprised at all though as that is Simon, full of kindness, puts everyone else first, he hasn't a bad bone in his body.
I'm a strong believer in Karma, if anyone deserves some good luck, Simon is definetly due some!
